No, having a yeast infection will not directly affect your chances of getting pregnant. But the itchiness and irritation a yeast infection causes probably won't put you in the mood for intercourse.

Yeast infections are caused by a common fungus called Candida. Normally, the acid balance of the vagina keeps this fungus from multiplying. But a change in the acidity of the vagina — often due to illness, menstruation, pregnancy, some antibiotics, or birth control pills — can encourage yeast growth. Moist, tight clothing such as a wet bathing suit can also provide a prime breeding ground for yeast.

The main symptoms of a yeast infection are itchiness and a white, cheesy discharge. You may also have burning, irritation, and a rash on the outer lips of the vagina.

Yeast infections are very easy to treat with over-the-counter vaginal antifungal medications or the oral prescription drug Diflucan (fluconazole). Most treatments work in one to seven days. There is no danger in having sex while you're taking antifungal medications, but intercourse may further irritate the area and delay healing.

If your symptoms don't go away after you finish taking the medication, see your doctor, who can test for other infections that have similar symptoms. Infections such as chlamydia, gonorrhea, and bacterial vaginosis can change the acidity of vaginal secretions, which can hurt your chances of getting pregnant by making it harder for sperm to reach the egg. Never leave a yeast infections untreated it can cause you later problems for example...cervicitis.

It could be as simple as a tipped uterus. My family has genetic tipped uterus, and it worsens with each pregnancy.
I have had HPV, Bacterial infection, Leep surgery, Tubal surgery, Tubal reversal surgery {to get pregnant again} and PID due to lack of seeing a doctor for a simple yeast that turned into bacterial. See information on these diseases on our community.

But I had a loss in Jan. 07 due to a bacterial infection and I know a girl that lost her son to preterm labor because of a bacterial infection.

You need to seek advice from another doctor. I had been seeing my doctor since 04, and I went to him Oct 06 with discomfort and an odor, he said I was fine and sent me on my way. Nov 06 normal cycle, Dec 06 got pregnant, Jan 07 loss due to bacterial. Seeking advice from another doctor is not a bad thing, it is just a second opinion. My sister has been seeing the same doctor for 14 yrs and each month has ONE day without pain, I sent her to my doctor and she has a collapsing uterus, leaking cervix and is on her way for a hystorectomy {sp}...none of which her doctor found! So seeing another doctor might just help you find out what is going on with you and why you keep getting these infections ...these could raise a ton of problems during pregnancy if unknown they are there.
