Materials needed:

A coil length of copper wire to conduct electricity.

Source of energy: a 5 Volt battery

A nail, which is wrapped with the copper wire.

A little light bulb

Procedure:
After wrapping the nail with the copper wire, the wire is spliced so that one has a positive and negative. One of the wire leads is placed to the Negative and Positive poles of the energy source battery. The other end of the lead that is wrapped around the nail is touched to the light bulb. It should light up.

Take a piece of twin cable and bare the ends.

Using crocodile clips, connect one end of one wire to the positive side of a battery and the other end to the solder at the bottom of the little bulb.
The other wire, connect one end to the negative side of the battery and its other end to the brass case of the bulb.
The bulb will light up.
