Awe as a past "late for delivery" mom I understand your frustration, however remember your due date is an estimation, a guess 40 wks out from your last menstraul cycle. So let it be and no matter what mother nature will take course. This is a good time for you to get a ton of rest and relax. I am sure that your doctor will not let you go to far without asking if you want to induce labor. But also remember these last few days/wks is when the babies lungs are developing so it is vital that they stay in there as long as possible. Again mother nature will take course she always does. I was 2 wks, 3 dys late with my DD she is NOW 14! So all is well ...try some meditation, get lots of rest whether that consists of sleep or just lounging around. Your going to be a busy lady this next month after you bring home your little one, at least until you two get ona schedule together.
Enjoy!

Babies rarely come on time. I wasnt stressed when I had my daughter and I wanted to see her with all my heart. I was induced at 41 weeks and she still didn't come out until 3 days later (10 days past the due date). And they had to get her out by emergency c-section. She just didn't want to come out the natural way-she's so stubborn. She's 19 months old now and just as stubborn now as she was the day she was born!

Your body will not allow you to go into labor if it detects stress. Try to relax and your body may take action. However, I am a firm believer in not letting your baby stay in too long. This increases the chance that the baby will have it's first bowel movement inside the amniotic sac and he may also get too big causing complications for you and him. If you are really concerned, talk to your doctor. If he or she thinks you have nothing to worry about and your baby is not in danger then just wait. I know this is hard but the apple won't fall from the tree until it is ripe.

No. Babies come when they want!
There are no rules saying that due dates are 100%accurate and they only give a rough idea of when to expect a baby to arrive.
There is nothing more to babies being late.

Yes you can be holding back but more importantly please hear this. A NORMAL PREGNANCY IS 38-42 WEEKS. Your baby isn't a pint of milk, he doesn't have a best before date. He isn't a library book he isn't overdue. He's a baby and he will come when he is ready!

Babies come when they are ready. I had my last child ten days over the due date. I actually had the Dr. induce me. If it goes much longer I would have your Dr. induce you so the baby isn't so big making it harder on you.

with my daughter when i was stressed out really bad i actually went into labor.
every ones body and baby is different due dates are just guesses-no one knows for sure. the baby will come when he/she wants too. but try to relax i know its hard but it is best for baby you he/she is already going to be stressd during labor don't make them be even more than they already are.

Of course not, he is not ready yet..... he will know when it's time. Your doctor won't allow you to go too long. The average pregnancy term is 38-42 weeks.
