As soon as they are cleared to leave the hospital. However, use the pacifier so their ears don't pop, and pack LIGHT! Don't lug around a huge car seat and stroller...check that stuff and just use a small umbrella stroller while on layovers. You can wheel that up to the door of the plane and have it put in valet. Also see if when you book your flight they can put you next to an empty seat, just for extra space.

You could probably fly the day after you get home.....but i would wait a couple of weeks until they baby gets used to her own surrondings......and then ask you're doctor if there would be any problems....ik when i was on the plane there was a small baby that looked like he was about a month old and he cried when we took off and landed but not much inbetween........But even older people have problems with their ears poppin when they land and go up..........

Another solution would be to have you mom fly out here...that would help the baby so the baby wouldn't even have to fly....

I don't believe there's a minimum on infant age for flying, but I would not chance flying while you're still healing from the birth. At least six weeks, probably... that will give you time to heal, give the baby time to settle a bit... and give you a chance to get used to being a mom and dealing with an infant before you have to travel.

I would wait at least a few weeks for things to die down a bit, but the baby really can fly anytime. The only trick is to make sure the baby is sucking on a bottle or pacifier during tack off and landing to help the baby to relive ear pressure naturally with the sucking action.

Honestly, you could fly the day after...you just need to make sure the baby is sucking on a bottle or pacifier when you take off and land. I flew with my daughter when she was a week old and she did great. Just make sure they are sucking as if they don't the pressure could bother them!

You don't have to wait, you can fly right away.. you will just have to hold the baby in your lap...good luck
