well ill take a stab at it: i always thought it mean grand= great or awesome, funk= funky, or rocking, railroad=loud like a train or imposibble to stop like a train running down the tracks, so waht ya get it one kickbutt funky band

The band is great but I never thought much of the name. My guess would be that by 'railroad' they mean it in the sense....we are coming through, goin everywhere, get on board...that kind of thing. The first 2 words mean what they mean. So they are a big kick *** rock band who is gonna come to wherever you are and deliver the funk lol. This is just my interpretation so take it as you will. Great question tho

What does their name mean? It doesn't really mean anything. They were named after a railroad line called " Grand Trunk Western Railroad" in Michigan (which is where they came from).

Awesome band...I love them!
