My son is 2 months old...Am I spoiling him by buying him thousands of dollars in clothes? He has all brand clothes. These are some things that are in his closet:

These are just a few things...He has a walk in closet and it is all full of clothes. He has 4 pairs of Puma shoes, 3 pairs of Nikes, 5 pairs of Ralph Lauren, and a couple of pairs from Gap. Is he being spoiled? We do live in a large 6 room house, we would be classified as upper class, but am I spoiling my son?

At just 2 months old he doesn't know the difference. But if that's the lifestyle you live and have the money to go for it. There are 2 types of spoiling in my opinion. I don't feel clothes, toys or love could ever be bad spoiling this is good spoiling! To me bad spoiling a child is letting them get away with anything and everything! If you have the money go for it....."good" spoil him rotton!!

You're not really spoiling at this point because at two months old he doesn't know the difference between Gap clothes or Wal-mart or a brown paper bag. Your 2 month old defintely doesn't need shoes but if you have the money to spare you can spend it on him however you want. Remember that he's going to grow out of all those clothes so quickly he may not get a chance to wear everything. Just make sure he has just as many hugs, kisses, and love as he does clothes...thats all babies really need anyways.

If you want to spoil a 2 month old do it with attention. Although it's impossible to give a baby too much love. I'm sorry but it sounds like you have a shopping addiction and you're using your son as a reason to 'Spend'. If you want to spoil him with money, do so, but instead of buying a load of clothes, 1/2 of which will probably never be worn, put that money into an account and buy him an expensive car when he's sixteen. He'll probably thank me for that suggestion!haha

You aren't spoiling him you are just wasting money. Not to be rude, but those clothes you are spending thousands of dollars on, he won't be able to wear in 3 weeks! Children grow so fast and to buy them such nice and so many clothes is a waste, invest in something that will be worth while for you son. Or even put it all away in a savings account for him, that will benefit him more than all these clothes!! Just think everytime you go to buy him some clothes, put that money in the savings account!! Good luck and God bless you and yours!

wow.. that's a pretty expensive list of material things u got there for everyone to see. anyway, he's your baby, so u do whatever u please. And if u got all that kind of stuff that u claim u do and can afford it, what does it matter what anyone thinks on yahoo answers? ur baby most likely doesn't even notice much less care what he wears or has. At 2 months old, all he really cares about is being fed and changed and had his rest. So as far as material things go i guess u can buy all u want if u like, but it doesn't even really matter. Why dont use all that money to invest in something that is actually useful instead? ..maybe like add it to that account he has with all that hundreds of dollars he got or add it to that college fund or something... i dunno.

I wouldn't call it spoiling your son. I would say you are wasting your money.
Unless you plan on changing him every half hour of every day most of the clothes you bought him will end up being too small before he actually gets to use them once.
Ease up on the spending, put the money to better use like a college savings account for your son....

He is just 2 months old. He could care less what brand of clothes he has on. All he wants is a full tummy and to be warm and dry. So to answer your question No, not now! You are just showing everyone else that WHEN HE GETS OLDER he will be spoiled.

I personally would say yes. I love my daughter (our first) with everything in me, but I also would love to be able to adopt another child some day. So I am being careful not be buy alot of things as every penny I save is one penny closer to allowing her to have a brother or sister some day. But I think even if I could have children the natural way, that I wouldn't buy that much money in clothes for them, especially at that age...they grow out of them so quickly. Put it is a savings account for him when he gets older!

Well if you can afford it do what makes you and him happy. But most of those clothes and shoes probably won't even be worn. He's only 2 months old-babies grow unbelievably fast. My baby only had 2 pairs of shoes at that age (sneakers and sandals). She only wore each of those a couple times because she grew out of them so fast.

It is definitely not spoiling him, since he has no idea about the value of the clothes anyways. It may be a waste of money, tho, since they get spit up, peed and pooped on almost daily. Or in my son't case, several times a day, LOL.
And as someone else mentioned, if you want to put that money to good use, perhaps you could help me out with my $3,000 debt! ;)
