I was wondering the same thing, so I did a little bit of research. The most interesting page I found, mentioned that it's a stereotype that may date all the way back to ancient Rome.

Stereotypes might save time yet they are no longer universally genuine :P

well i think that people thought that blonde people were dumb in general. if brunettes seemed dumb in general in the past then we would say dumb brunettes. honostly though, and i am a brunette and no offense to fellow brunettes, but blondes ARE normally the more curvy and attractive to men. since men cant see past the attractivness at times they feel that they're stupid. it's more of a judging a book by its cover sort of thing. but honestly...nobody knows the real answer to that.

As a blond, I'm quite offended from this statement. I think that people say it because the majority of women working on the showbiz are blonde and they tend to do dump things. Of course, there'salso onother posibility, that the rest of women envy blond because they're HOT!

it isnt normaly true but they thought of that because a guy had a blonde at this school and she was really dumb. so he kept on telling he that she was a dumb blonde that is how they got it

a jealous brunnette. god wouldnt make people stupid on purpose. a blonde wouldnt be jealous of a brunette, they are to common. the most rare hair color is red, only 2 percent of usa has red fair, 16 percent has blonde. brunette is most common so oviously they are jealous
