they might be braxton hicks contractions or you may be starting labor, you never really know. As long as theres no bleeding or extreme pain, its all normal. I had my baby at 39 weeks and 6 days....you never know, yours could be right around the corner!! On the other hand your baby could be 2 weeks away, but dont dwell on that, just know your beautiful baby will be here soon!! Good luck and congratulations!

Everyone is different. Every birth is different. Some decide they want to come early and some late. You really cannot predict. I had three. The first one was a month and a half early. My water broke. That was the sign. The second one came three weeks early. Got steady contractions with that one. The last one came ten days late. Had to be induced with that one. So your baby will let you know when it is time and if it goes past your due date let your Dr. know you want to be induced. The longer you wait the bigger the baby and you don't want that. It always seems like they are never going to come. That is a normal feeling when you get to be sticking out there. Good Luck.

Don't be in such a rush, these last few days, wks are very important for that little bean. The lungs are the very last organ to fully develop and if you go into birth to soon your bean may need to stay in the NICU for steriods to help lung development. As frustrating as it it remember your due date is only an estimated 40 wks out from the first day of your last menstraul cycle. So it is a guessing game, close but no perfect guess!
I went 2 wks and 3 days over with my DD, she just turned 14. Ugh you want to talk about READY...but nature took its course before they even set a date of induction. So it will happen. Just be patient and remember to use this time to get all the rest you need because you are going to have about a month of sleepless nights and restless days until you and baby get on a schedule.
Best wishes to you

The 1st thing you should do it call your OB. I started getting mild cramping about 36+ hrs before I gave birth. I thought it was psychosymatic b/c I was watching one of those birthing shows on discovery. Of course everyone is different, it could be baxon hicks or you can pop in 8 hrs. I found I had many bowel movements during the 36 hrs leading to my birth and if this starts happening, take a shower 'cuz it may be your last for a few days. Put some deodorant on, b/c I forgot and I smelled. I forgot to pack some, too.
Good Luck and congratulations!

Hello there i am 40 w + 6 days over. I had crampy pains at 38 weeks like period pains at first then my stomach tightened i explained this to the midwife and she said they sounded like braxton hicks the womb was preparing for the real thing. As long as no bleeding or abnormal discharges occur i would just take note and mention them to your midwife.
I thought it was time and im overdue but not to discourage you as we are all different just keep this in mind. I feel disheartened that my baby is not here yet.

I started having bad pain at about 37 weeks and it turned out to be bad indigestion. My baby was 10 days late. If you're worried (or if the pain doesn't go away within a couple hours) definitely call or go to the hospital.

You are doing well, every mother has this feeling from what I hear. The cramps sound like stress and perhaps the manifestation of your want (you want to give birth). The baby is going to come whenever they feel like it. I wouldn't worry too much, any day now!

You can have your baby anytime time, unfortunatly every delivery is different. If your water breaks or you start having contractions that come every 7 minutes or so, you should go to the hospital. Walking sometimes stimutlates labor so walk walk walk. Good luck and congradulations.!!!!
