This guy asked me out and he said can i take you out for dinner or perhaps out for drink.
And i said: No to dinner or drinks but I could meet you for coffee and by the way this is not a date..
He said great im look forward to that.
Guys what do you think of this? And how would you guys react if a girl told u this?

i'm not a guy, but i would think that if he really is interested in you he will do the coffee thing and hope for the best. Guys like it when you play a little hard to get. If you are truly not inerested in this person go lead him on. if you are...lead him on al little and let him come your way.

I'm a female but if I were a guy I'd wonder what your issue was...you seem to have a control issue. You made sure the meeting wasn't either of the options he suggested, and made it clear you didn't consider it a date...why do you feel the need to call the shots right off the bat? What do you have against a date or a guy buying you a meal or a cocktail?
There's nothing essentially wrong with what you did, but it is a bit odd and I were he I'd show up just to see how you acted on the un-date. How many more rules you lay down, and how much you talk about yourself, your past, your personal values, and how men have treated you before that you don't intend to continue tolerating.
Be careful you don't cut off your nose to spite your face.

Why not go? There was a guy who asked me out once, I turned him down countless times. He was persistent and continued asking, finally I gave in thinking he was going to be hard to get rid of. We had a great time. We are now happily married. We have been together for years and have two beautiful children.

To a guy, "I could meet you for coffee" means there is a chance you will sleep with him. Unless of course he is gay, in which case he probably just wants to trade fashion pointers.

guys are pretty stupid. and sometimes very relentless.
they will take anything and run with it..
like if you say, yeah, i'll go out with you. they will call their mom and tell her to start planning the wedding...
seriously. tell him over and over, because if he sees even a tiny little crack he will try to break into it...
