I have a normal 28 day cycle and they say that with a normal cycle like mine i should ovulate around day 14. That's bull. I've been pregnant twice and got pregnant 3 days after my period with both pregnancies. I'm living proof so no doctor can prove me otherwise. My doctor even tried to tell me that i shouldnt be ovulating so early and i may have gotten pregnant afterwards. These doctor's are not GOD. How in the hell can they tell me when i ovulate. My period just went off on the 15th and i had sex on the 17th. There is still a chance that i may have gotten pregnant. All i'm trying to say is you can get pregnant at anytime you have un-protected sex. I'm living proof. BeCareful!!

Do you mean 3 days after your period stopped? Well since sperm can live up to 5 days that makes sense with the day 14 rule. Say you have a 6 day period and you have sex 3 days after that which would put you on day 9, well if you ovulated on day 14 you could get pregnant. Day 1 is the first day of your period, and with a 28 day cycle it would be estimated that you could get pregnat by having sex between day 9-day 15. So your doctor's were right. I think you were counting wrong.

Ohhh, i've waited a long time for somebody to speak up about this!!
I just hate the automated answer to the question 'When should I ovulate?' as 'Day 14'

I ovulate on day 6, that's 2 days after my period finishes.
Doctors should really get their acts together.

I have to agree with everyone else. I have a VERY long cycle. My average is 35 days. But the month I got pregnant I ovulated on day 16 which is much earlier for someone with a 35 day cycle. Just depends on when you're body is ready I believe.

I am right there with you sister!!! I know when I ovulate and its NOT the 13 days out like it should be, matter of fact with every month it is different. I have been pregnant numerous times, two living and 2 losses after 5 wks. {3 were missed miscarrys} So I know...like right now I am supposed to be ovulating, however I just ended...can tell because my right side cyst on the ovary lets me know!!!
LOL, but then again we can't just judge and say all woman are like us either. So I just say God will let it happen when it is supposed to, regardless of age, finances, race...it will just happen.

I'm with ya on that, I ovulate late in the month. In fact with this pregnancy, I calculated that I must have gotten pregnant a few days before my missed period. Also, my great aunt tried and tried to avoid "relations" on the days she was supposed to be ovulating and ended up having 14 children. They decided later on that she probably ovulated twice in a month. Bummer to find that out after 14 kids huh? lol....

These Docs don't even realise that every woman is different, they told me years ago that I'd never have a child, now I have FOUR!
But did you mean 3 days after your period stopped?
