Don't look all the stupid answers that came from people who haven't got the slightest idea what the word "movie" means. I am greek and the only thing i am going to say is that it was the best movie i have seen in months and maybe in years. It had some things that didn't fit with the real story but that is exactly the thing that made it a better movie. "Alexander the great" and "Troy" had poorly effects, had a poorly direction, the things weren't that real and they made fun of the Greek people, especially on the movie "Alexander". Not to mention the fact that Alexander's mother is Anjelina Jolie and she has the same age as Alexander has. And how all the directors think that the greek people were gay in the past? Two words i am going to say for "300" GREAT MOVIE. You HAVE to see this movie. You're gonna love it.
Bye!

I haven't seen it because I refuse to waste the $8, but I'm fairly sure it's the same old crap we've seen a thousand times before.
Wasn't "Troy" out just a few months ago? Same s.hit. I don't get why people are so easily thrilled by pointless violence and a couple special effects.
I recommend Julie Taymor's _Titus_, a remake of the Shakespeare play "Titus Andronicus," also set in ancient Rome (but Taymor brings in imagery from '30s Germany - World War II - which is quite brilliant). Anthony Hopkins stars and is fabulous as always.

I thought it was excellent as an imagist movie. The plot had a few holes, and people will fuss with the violence and sexuality, but to me, it's first and foremost providing the audience with a unique image, which it did very well.

GUYS! the movie is based on the battle of Thermopylae. A REAL BATTLE, it happen in 480 BC. King Leonidas actually held back all those Persians. The Persian were not succesful. IT ACTUALLY HAPPENED. Please go to history web sites and see for yourself. The Spartans were for real and were very good warriors.

Very entertaining and riveting. It brought me back to the time when a leader stood in front of his troops and led his troops to battle, fighting side by side with them, and dying alongside of them. That, to me, is what true leadership and bravery should be. Nothing like what we consider our leaders in these modern times: hiding behind rows and rows of aides and using scapegoats one after the other to save their so-called precious hides, not taking responsibility for their messed up decisions, and sacrificing their people for selfish motives and delusions of grandeur.
