No. It shows only that people missed the (to them, subtle) distinction between having served in the military prior to becoming president, and having gone to war as a general leading troops on the ground after becoming president.

I don't believe any US president ever served as an in-field military commander of their troops after being elected president.

It shows that there are dumb people on both sides of the aisle.
I saw an "on the street" segment where people said they hated Bush. They were then asked why and half of them were stumped. A quarter of them sounded like a botched headline and a quarter had legitimate arguments.

I also saw another segment where self proclaimed liberals were asked who the VP, Sec of State, Speaker, and other high ranking people were and they had no idea or had entertaining guesses. They didn't know the Bill of Rights or a number of simple & important facts about our country's history. Why would an adament democrat need to know the 16th President anyway?

You are just trying to get people going.

Well actually, i wonder why anyone would ask such a question, when everyone know that NO President has ever went to war with the troops.

The Chairmen of the Joints Chiefs of Staff have never gone to war with the troops.

You'd be hard pressed to find any 4 star generals who have ever gone to war with the troops.

You really think the 2 star general division commanders in Iraq or Afghanistan actually go to war with their troops ?

.
So I'd say the Conservatives who answered your question, probably could';t believe that anyone could ask such a silly question, and thought that you had just stated it wrong, so they answered what they thought you wanted to know.

I believe it was a Democrat who thought the President should be fighting alongside the troops. Perhaps the GOPers couldn't believe that she would think such a ridiculous thing and tried to make the question make some sense. Interesting how you left out the part about the asker.

Comprehension issues, let's look at bush's predecessor:

"I did not have sexual relations with that woman..."

"That depends on your definition of the word is, is."

Sorry, but I think you have a biased perspective. I don't see that all all. What is your point?
