Great question. I keep pointing out that in the '04 election the President was very weak and yet the Democrats could only muster up John "I voted for the war before I voted against it" Kerry and John "I have almost no experience" Edwards.
Of course admitting that they are part of the reason the President got re-elected will only be admitted to by those with real principals and you won't find many of those amongst the bash Bush crowd.

well... first off... just talking about whatever his failed policies on that particular day (as it seems it's almost daily that he fails somewhere else)... is just talking about current events...
many people talk about current events... it's not that uncommon...(heck, I see you guys still bashing Clinton, hahaha)
but the other thing is... Bush barely beat Kerry... even though he didn't seem to be that good of a candidate... so to come that close... I think people were working pretty hard...
and "taking responsibiltiy" for losing an election... is a bit of a silly idea... since many did work very hard... sometimes you just don't win... and there doesn't seem to be a lot you can do about it... I mean I think a lot of people didn't want to change after 9-11 and in the middle of a war on two fronts... and that's kind of understandable...
even though now, several I know regret the decision in hindsight...
and also... if you don't live in an area that's "up for grabs"... like an ohio or Florida... much of the time... it doesn't make a big difference, especially in areas that vote heavily dem or republican traditionally.... with the way the electoral college is set up... if you're familiar with that...
AND LASTLY... why didn't you campain harder in 2006? were you all just lazy? were those the best candidates you could come up with? seriously?

As a Democrat, I did do stuff before during the election. I voted for Gore in 2000 and he should have won. Gore literally had more votes than Bush, but because of the voting screw-up and the out-dated voting process, Bush 'won' President-Elect.
And for Kerry.....I dunno. He dug his own grave. There is a reason there are so many Bush haters and I'll tell you why. Forget about the parties, the left and right, Republican and Democrat and whatever opinion you have about the war in Iraq. What Bush actually did with the war in Iraq is he made our allies, our friendly countries, be divided when we really need them and he made our enemies unite to fight us with a stronger force. That's not how you fight a war.
And let's face it, the Middle East is a messed up place. It seems everyone hates everyone over there and they've been hating each other for thousands of years. We step in with our bloated military and say "We want peace and democracy here!" Who are we to change the culture of a nation? Sure, they didn't have the best life or the many freedoms we enjoy everyday, but it's not like those countries are wealthy enough to support freedom.
When will the war be over? What is the real objective? This war is becoming more like Vietnam than ever because we don't really know how to fix the problem, but we know 'we have to be over there'. And what is the problem? It all boils down to oil. 70% of the oil that's left is in the Middle East and we have to stake our claim before China does, but that's going to be hard because America gives China hundreds of BILLIONS of dollars every year to make ALL of our products. Anything you buy at Wal-mart or Target is made in China with slave labor. Anything that says, "Made in China" is made by workers who get paid a few dollars a week so we can have our T shirts or cell phone or toys super cheap.
We are the most powerful country on the planet, but we are also the most wasteful only because we can afford it and we are too lazy to change. We SHOULD be the most powerful country on the planet with an ecomic and social conscience to the rest of the world because right now, the rest of the world supports our bloated lifestyle and they're not gonna take it for much longer. We are less than 5% of the global population yet we consume more than 33% of the global resources. Those are staggering numbers.
So that's why Bush sucks. We are fighting (and losing, by the way) a war to continue the support of our bloated lifestyle. If we really wanted to 'win' this war on terrorism all we have to do is one simple thing......stop buying oil from the MIddle East. They would lose 70% percent of the business that America demands and be out of billions of dollars which would really screw them up.

I did all of that and then some. Who's to say these so called "bush bashers" didn't do all of that? I campaigned on my college campus and at my church for my candidates during both elections and during elections before that. We all know how the electoral college works. You honestly think that it would have mattered? I also happen to live in Los Angeles CA, one of the last states to be counted. That didn't matter to me.
Having an opinion on my current leader and my government doesn't make me a *basher* , it makes me a citizen with an opinion who is thankful for her freedom of speech. Had I lived in almost any other country in the world I might be arrested or worse for speaking out against our leader.

Your right I didn't work hard enough to get Kerry elected, destroy a few diabold voting machines in the right places. One thing about it Kerry could not possibly been any worse. Charles Manson could not have been worse the Bush. The Neighbors cat couldn't have been worse then Bush. My sole purpose in Bashing Bush is the repuke's ragged on Clinton for 8 years. They still do for that matter. He was probably the best president I have seen in my lifetime at the job of running the business of the country. I will continue my efforts to bash Bush until he is gone.

You answered your own question, there, Kissinger, and, I might add, how do you know just what any of us do with our lives? HUH?
And, I do hate to point out to you the outcome of the 2000 election has never properly been settled in a way that won't scar. I mean, seriously. ANYONE who accepted the outcome of the 2000 election campaign, and that goes for both Republicans and Democrats have NO IDEA how much damage they allowed to be done to our country.......
But, back to one of your questions - I will never cut Bush slack, simply because he DOES NOT DESERVE IT.

I gave $2000 to Kucinich and was his campaign coordinator locally. What more could I really have done?
When he wasn't nominated, I switched my efforts to Bush's only other opponent, Nader.
But everyone wanted to waste their vote on Kerry.

I was on the internet day and night before the ellection telling people what would happen if they voted for Bush, but people didn't listen, and all the bad things I said would happen have happened, except the dead haven't come back to life and tried to eat our brains.

All joking aside, it's so easy to bash Bush because he's an idiot. Period. However with the deaths of thousands of US soldiers for no reason whatsoever, that ISN'T funny......
