so when you ask your selves these questions throughout the day are you supposed to answer them to yourself too? or does your subconscious take care of that or somethin...

It's because the mind likes to deal with questions. The idea is to rephrase positive self-talk in the form of a question.

For example, instead of "I have useful skills," you ask, "What useful skills do I have?"

Sometimes using positive affirmative questions helps you get around your negative thought patterns. When a person constantly thinks they are inadequate they start to focus only on their negative attributes so affirmations have to fly in the face of every mistake and negative thought that came before you try affirmations. Questions help sidetrack the negative thought patterns and break the thoughts.
