Patricius was the son of a Roman Brit tax collector who was captured by Irish raiders somewhere around AD 405. He was about 16. Herding the pigs of an Irish chief he tried to console himself in the Christian religion that he vaguely remembered from his growing up years. One night he had a dream directing him to escape, a dangerous thing because his master kept head of his enemies on poles around his house. But the escape was successful. Studying more of Christianity, there was another dream--going back to Ireland as a missionary, which he did around AD 430 (as variously reported).
Patrick was never "canonized" by Rome as an official (capital "S") saint. He wasn't the first missionary to Ireland, Palladius was, and he didn't drive out any snakes, there weren't any. Some even say his "color" was blue. But he made an enormous difference, if nothing else than from stopping the ritual killing. Some say he brought a level of peace to Ireland that the land had not had before.
There is a link below to the "Confession of Saint Patrick". It is worth reading.

wearing eco-friendly is precisely a U.S. custom, because the colour eco-friendly isn't conventional in eire. eco-friendly is suitable to the old eco-friendly flag and a time even as eire replaced into no longer free. eco-friendly is likewise a colour appropriate with wish and nature. eco-friendly in case you want, yet when you're Irish or have Irish historic past eco-friendly is unlucky!!!
