Anybody have any hints on how to stop and stay balanced. I can start and touch my foot to my knee but in unbalanced and bad at stopping

Make sure to keep your arms and abs really strong. If you were doing a turn and someone came along as tried to smack your arms down, you should be able to hold them exactly where they are. You could be pushing off to hard- that might be why you have trouble stopping. Even if it seems like you need to wind up and push off really hard, you really dont have to. Just bend your legs and snap up into position. If you have to, jump out of your turns until they're clean and sharp.

You may want to try to practive with weights on your ankles and wrists.

This allows your body to overcompensate and you gather your balance.

Think of it like an overweight person having to handle their weight in order not to topple over.

you should practice with someone you know. an easier way is to get a person you like, fall in love with that person, and it'll just flow. or do the other way and practice with someone else you know.
