Why did our society become so violent?

it wasn't like this 30 years ago, kids killing each other was mostly unheard of.

what is the cause?????

It's our Human nature, our civilised nature is just one step from acting agressive. Just look at what (some) normal Germans did under Nazi rule. One day postman or decorators, next day murderers. LOL...not!!
But in regards to present day kids - possibly bad parenting, or not a strict father figure to idolise, plus in our society the majority think of number one and think life owes them a living. Also a lack of moderate religion?

The cause is staring you in the face,no discipline,no deterrent.I was at school in the 1940s-50s,if we got a teacher who never administered corporal punishment the class was bedlam,if the teacher used the cane as punishment the class was quiet and attentive and also shown the teacher respect.Whilst there were murders at that time,they were not on the scale they're on today. Why? Capital punishment.A murder used to make headlines in the national press.There was a murder close to where I live a couple of weeks ago,Know what? it didn't even make the front page of the local rag.Anyone who commits a murder now knows they will only be sent to prison for a few years with every need catered for and three square meals a day.For most of the low lifes inside thats not a punishment its probably much better than the conditions in their own homes.At the end of the day its the politicians past and present who are to blame ,we are supposed to live in a democracy,why won't they hold a referendum on corporal and capital punishment to see what the will of the electorate is

The destrustion of left wing all equal togehter fighting injustice for peace cultures


Lack of unions ie people looking out for each other instead of number one.

Down sizing to make profit resulting in young people only seeing dominance though violence the way to get staus and an income.


Police attacking ravers, hippies and other peacful groups or those growing own dope and not arresting people for being members of gangs.

I would say first of all drugs. Of course, drugs have been around for years but 30 years ago, I was about 10 and we had never heard of crack, cocaine etc etc - it is everywhere now. Drugs leads to crime. I also think that the gangster culture doesn't help - I had he bay city rollers to look up to in my day!. The family structure seems to have broken down and basic things like respect for your elders, and an attitude to want to work hard. It seems that that's all gone now.
