How about using The Yellow Wallpaper and discussing the theme of control over other people? Familiar with the Stockholm Syndrome?

W.H. Auden's 'Musee des Beaux Arts.' I did a research paper on that one in high school, and it turned out great. Short stories, try Edgar Allen Poe, or just browse through a poetry book, see if something strikes your interest. :)
