It was still there much later than the 50s. I was born in the 60s and I remember it.

Holy crap! I forgot that! Sometimes the cork would stick to the bottle. Yes, I'm old.

No I don't remember that but I do remember the toy that had two long bands of rope with some kind of hard plastic ball at the ends and you would get them going back and forth hitting each other I think they were called clackers. Do you remember them?

my parents kept some of those bottles i want to throw them out thier collecting too much dust and they sure aint drinkable
