If it was legal to have animal for a house pet, which would you choose and why?
I would choose a giraffe so he/ she could help me put on a new roof and pick the oranges on the top of the tree :-)

I'd probably have some sort of large (well-tamed) cat, like a leopard or a tiger. But I'd want to live somewhere where they could be happy and not cooped up. Or maybe I'd have an eagle or a falcon. They're not cuddly, but wicked cool anyway. Then again...squirrel-like animals are really cute and hilarious, not to mention mischievous and smart.
Actually...when it comes right down to it, I'd probably just have a dog. There's a reason why they became the first domesticated animals: they just make great companions. It's in their genes to be loyal and loving to humans. If some other animal would have made a better pet, I'm sure we'd already have them domesticated now and popular as pets. Dogs are content anywhere. Some exotic pet like a penquin or a lion would need a lot of care and special living arrangements, so even if they were legal, it would still be really hard and expensive to make them happy.

I always thought it would be cool to have a black panther, but now that i know about wild animals, and how people turn them loose because they can't control them when they get older. I think they are best left where they are. Recently see a bob cat. that turned and looked at our truck. and I am pretty sure it was a tamed one that we had seen in a cage a few months prior in the same area. now running loose and someone was going to go shoot it.

A dog. It would cost way too much to give proper care to an exotic animal.

I would choose a penguin because he/she is cute and funny! They would make an awesome pet!

I would choose a male lion....i think they are very pretty. i would only hav one though if it was actually safe to be around....but i don't think they will ever be safe enough to have as a pet.

i used to want a monkey, but i don't know. i really like actual pets better, it's just nice knowing they are safe to be around :)
