Firstly if you have a subscription to Norton you may as well use it until it requires renewal. Spy bot is an excellent programme but you can also run Ad Aware alongside it. also free off the web. It will do no harm to run two anti spy ware products and one may pick up something the other misses. Also does your Norton have a firewall if yes then fine if not download Zone Alarm also free and an excellent programme. Finally when your Norton comes up for renewal don't bother remove it using add remove programmes and install AVG yet another free download. I have used all four of these for four years now with no trouble whatsoever. Good luck.

No, you need antivirus. Spybot is an excellent little program.
AVGfree is free:) highly recommended.
Norton is crap, I'm speaking from personal experience.
I had norton antivirus and firwall on another computer and for a long time (months) liveupdate would'nt work because a trojan got in. After a search on the internet i eventually found out others had the same problem and norton would'nt could'nt fix it so i went to PCTOOLS.COM
Which i would highly recommend if you dont mind paying for your software.

Norton Internet Security, which is the product I believe you have is to stop people hacking into your PC, it will not stop malware/spyware. Spybot is a good product and will find a lot of these malware/spyware parasites but I would recommend that you rely on just one product. Lavasoft Adaware SE is a good companion product, as is AVG Anti-spy and Spyware Terminator. I run all three of the above and what one misses the others find.

Yes, spybot is a great software, but for full security you need a good firewall (Zone alarm) you can get this for free too, and a good security suite (Mcafee 10 in 1 2007), or a virus scan software (AVG) its also free. Your choice!!
Hope this helped.

If you did not buy the Norton Dump IT! Go to CNET.com and download AVG amd Antivar AntiVir for free. They compliment each other and can be set to run updates and scans daily at your convience. If you bought Norton, wait till the subscript expires. Good Luck.

spybot is a excellent anti-spyware program and will clean any parasites that your p.c may have ,but dont get confused, many users think that spyware is a virus
you need to have a anti-virus scanner, but your can have as many anti-spyware programs as you wish
with regards to spybot, make sure you update it,and then imunize it to protect from future attacks
if used correctly spybot is the best anti-spyware program avalible, even better than anti-spyware that you pay for
good luck

run AVG Anti-Spyware Free
http://spywarekiller.hyperboards.com/index.php?action=view_topic&topic_id=39&latest=1
then
2) Do an online virus scan to check if you still have viruses on your computer. And let us know if the online virus scan still finds any virus or spyware .

use spywareblaster for added protection; it's free and works well with spybot; it resides in the background so you don't need to configure anything - just update it regularly
