No matter how long ago? To my knowledge, I never have been pregnant, but there have been a couple of times when, reading more about it, I think I may have miscarried. (It's been a few yrs since I've been to my ob/gyn, but I have made an appt for next week for exam and to talk about fertility.)

They are able to tell if you were pregnant by taking a peice of your uterus. This will tell them how thick it is. This is also how they tell if you are menopausal. Along with blood work.
So if you are trying to find out if you were ever pregnant there are tests they can do yes.
Not sure why you would be interested in looking at the past after having been a pregnancy loss canidate, it is heartbreaking and I wish I had never known I was pregnant. I made it to 7 wks 3 days and 5 wks 4 days...wishing to carry did not change anything.

Best wishes to you.

Sometimes a women can have what they call a "chemical pregnancy" which is when the sperm and egg meet but don't implant onto the woman's uterus and later just dissolves to nothing. This has probably happened to more women then they know since it doesn't result into cramping or bleeding. We don't even know that we were pregnant when this happens. When the egg implants then it would be almost impossible to not know that you are pregnant since the symptoms of being pregnant are present. It would be hard for a doctor to tell if you've had one if you have already gone through the process of it flushing itself out. I thought the same thing since it had been a while since I went to my gyn but everything turned out just fine. Good luck.

I would guess they could tell from your uterus... if it is in a different condition than a woman who has never been pregnant. I'm not sure. I've been wondering this for the past few months. I've read some really great answers. Maybe you can call your ob/gyn and just ask if it is possible.

No, not just by an exam, and not if you were only pregnant for a few wks. Good luck with your exams though, hope everything goes okay!

A Dr. can tell if you've given birth before. They might be able to tell if you've had an elective abortion due to scarring on the cervix, but if you've had a miscarriage, they won't be able to tell.

no, they couldn't know. But it would probably be beneficial for you to mention it to them, especially if you're TTC.
