This may be a very Naive question, but, why does the Palestinian Authority need the money of the West? Cant they act like a normal government and tax their people? My country isn't funded by foreign governments, so why should my tax dollars I pay to my country go to a foreign country for operational costs?

the PA does collect some taxes but i guess you can imagine its not easy when your territory is under occupation and facilities get bombed every now and then. so many countries (from all over the world) give some money as aid in development projects.
also israel does collect taxes but they receive billions of dollars from the US.
the money of your taxes goes much more to israel than to the PA.

#1 there is not city or country by the name of palestine. And they need our money because their old president Arafat stole about 9 billion from his people and left them nothing when he died. They prefer to spend their money on C-4 and other explosives, guns and ammo rather then supporting their own people. They need to be vanquished from the Israeli land pronto.

Why does a fully developed 1st world country like Israel need $3 billion in annual US aid? Maybe Israel should give half of that US aid to the PA?
