Whenever I try to record something on TV, I turn on the VCR and it immediately makes the picture on the TV blurry so when I record, the video isn't clear. How can I fix this? Thanks for any help.

Hi jasonautica,

It sounds like something is hooked up wrong.

You should be wired like this -

Cable into the input on the back of the VCR.

If your TV has the composite input (Red White Yellow) jacks run a Red White Yellow cable from the Output of the VCR into the Red White Yellow input on the TV.

If you don't have the Red White Yellow on both the TV and VCR then run the cable from the cable output on the VCR into the cable input on your TV.

Don't forget to set the switch on the back of your VCR for channel 3 or 4. Choose the channel that is not available locally over the air for minimum interference.

That should do it.

Is the VCR connected correctly? The cable or Ant. should go to the VCR first and then out to the TV. The TV should be on Ch. 3 or 4. The VCR should also be on ch 3 or 4 if you change channels from a cable box. If you're recording a signal coming from the TV output, could be when you turn on the VCR it's ch 3/4 RF modulator is causing the interference. Try using video in/out connections instead of VHF if that's what you're doing. Then you would typically select inputs such as Video 1 or 2 ..or S-Video.

If the signal to be recorded is going to the VCR first, it shouldn't matter what it looks like on the TV while recording. The recording should be clear when played back.
