Hi,
This is easy, but try this first put your Windows disk into your CD then switch your P.C off (with the disk in the drive) wait a minute then switch it back on it should now boot from the disk (if your BISO is set correctly) and select the REPAIR option, this usually fix's most problems. But to do a full install it the same method.

If you bought your computer retail it probably came with an operating system reinstall cd, so if you still have that you just pop it in to the computer and restart and it should give you a list of options. But if you don't have the cds then you will have to go out and buy a new windows operating system upgrade. If you want to prevent having to buy it again get the full version of Windows Xp Pro $199 at Staples, Circuit City, Best Buy, etc.

if your using xp, try system restore first, if not
get your windows install disk, restart your computer ( make sure you can boot from the dvd or cd rom in bios first, if not alter it so you can, usually press esc or del or F2 to enter bios, go to boot options and change first boot device to dvd or cd rom)
restart computer, if all is well you will see the message " press any key to boot from cd" press any key
when windows loads in the install screen, click on " install windows"
it will then say windows already exists, choose continue anyway.
it then states the disk has a partition, choose "delete partion on C:.
then click yes to confirm.
it will then come back asking you if you want to make the new partition active, click yes
.
then choosse "format"
then choose install windows and follow all on screen promts, making sure to get your keyboard and language to your country, also your time zone. thats it, it will install itself.
make sure you have all your drivers first though for things like, video card, sound card, printer scanner etc etc.
when its all done and installed log onto windows update and download critical updates for your computer.
job done..
take care
clive
