No one has had “bird flu shots” because there isn’t a vaccine for avian flu to inject.

But unfortunately, avian flu isn’t a joke, isn’t media hype, isn’t something made up to keep people scared – I think that covers the main myths.

The avian flu virus has now infected birds in over 50 countries and has infected people in Asia, Europe and Africa.

At this point most of the people who have been infected had contact with birds, but there has also been some person-to-person transmission.

The virus has been mutating and has been acquiring the changes necessary to be easily passed from person to person. When that happens, we will be in danger of a pandemic.

It is lethal. Over the past six months, 76% of the patients who have gotten H5N1 influenza died – good hospitals, anti-viral drugs, ventilators, etc. didn’t save them.

We can’t develop a vaccine until the pandemic begins, and it will take at least 6 – 9 months to produce one after that. At first the vaccine produced will be in small amounts and will most likely be only for healthcare workers, firemen, police, etc.

During the 1918 pandemic between 50 and 100 million people died and that was a fatality rate of about 2%

Right now H5N1 has a fatality rate of 76%. It’s very serious.

lol. I did not take any bird flu shots and I did not buy duct tape or plastic bags for the purpose of sealing off my home. I work in health care. I don't think many Americans made any preparation for the bird flu. I am not sure why you asked this question and called people "SHEEPS".

First of all the plural of sheep, is oddly enough sheep. So for your sake I hope English doesn't save the world, because you'd be lost. Secondly I got none, and it doesn't bother me that much. I have enough duct duct tape and garbage bags as is, I just don't have enough trash or broken possessions I'm too lazy to actually repair so I can put them to good use. Americans are sheep, duh. They will follow anything they are told by their government, b/c that's how they are trained. They're more like trained show dogs though if ya think about it. They are trained to respond a certain way when presented with specific stimuli and it never fails, so they always get a treat. They're told they are good Americans, and they are helping the world, so there's never any reason to find out for yourself what's really happening outside of the neat and tidy sterile little bubble that is American soil and pseudo-culture. Smile and wave and anyone who disagrees is a terrorist. The fact that Americans have resigned themselves to being sycophantic lily-livered puppets with no desire to learn or expand is generally the root of most of the major problems with American bureaucracy and pseudo-culture. Ignorance is bliss though, so it will take a lot of coaxing and a lot of time before they finally decide to spawn brains and start searching and learning for themselves. Oh well, ya can't win them all.
