Male:
Iulus Cesare (Yule-us Chess-a-ray) Trojan for Julius Caesar
or Julio Cesar (Hule-ee-oh Say-sar) Spanish for Julius Caesar
Female:
Chryseis Arisbe (Kris-ay-is Ah-ris-bee) named after a Trojan priestess of Apollo and another name for the city of Troy
Which would you prefer as the male name?
And is this a pretty female name or too complicated?

For those who argue about the spelling thing, I guess I agree. My personal name is Jesus (Hay-soos), and I do grow tired of the Jesus (Gee-sus) jokes all the time.
I think if I were to name my son Iulus Cesare, we would probably call him "Chess." I thought about Iulie (Yoo-lee), but I think it sounds too feminine. I don't think Chess would be too bad, at least for the playground situation many have foreseen. We would probably call the girl "Chrissy."

For JD, where I got the names.
I got Chryseis and Arisbe from the book, the Iliad (the Greek poem by Homer). Chryseis was a priestess of Apollo that was kidnapped in the early years of the Trojan War. Her father tried to get her back by paying the Greeks, but Agamemnon (the Greek Commander) wouldn't accept the payment. So Chryseis's father prayed to Apollo (the Greek Sun God), and Apollo sent a plague to ravage the Greeks until Agamemnon gave her back. Arisbe is another name for the city of Troy.
I got the name Iulus from one of the warriors of Troy. Aeneas was father to Iulus, and Julius Caesar was supposed to have been descended from that line. Aeneas was supposed to have founded the line that would grow into the Roman Empire.
Cesare I got from a book by my favorite author Mario Puzo (who also wrote the Godfather--the one with Al Pacino in the movie).

The book was called "The Family." It was the story of Rodrigo Borgia (Pope Alexander VI) and his family. His oldest son was named Cesare; and Cesare in the book eventually became leader of the Papal armies and unified Italy under Roman Catholic rule (though it is in fact a fictional story).

they are ALL impossible to spell without having to ask
Thats my objection with all names that parents make up cause they think they're cool or unique.
Would you want to go through your life spelling your name to everyone you meet?
I know I wouldn't.

I love the Trojan pronunciation of Caesar, but the Spanish version for Julius. I don't know if they mix well, but that's my opinion. I think the girl's name is both pretty and a little complicated. I love the Arisbe part, though. Out of curiosity, how did you come about these unique names?

I am completely on board with Julio Cesar. Despite the fact that all the ***** that have responded by admitting they would expect your kid to be teased. The fact is that it is a strong name. The girls name though does seem a bit too difficult for peers and adults alike. Good luck and stand by your choice if you feel strongly about them.

First off LOVE the greek names. I always have. I absolutly love greek mythology. For a boy go with Julio Cesar.. it is a very nice. The females name is very complicated and can gaurentee you almost everyone will not be able to pronounce it. Try something like
Alexia (defender)
Calisto (most beautiful)
Chara (Happiness)
Eirene (peace)
Gaia (earth)
Iola (violet)
Isis (queen of the trone)
Melina (honey)
Ophelia (help)
Penelope (weaver of the cunning)
Selene (moon)
Sofia (wisdom)
Good luck with everything! Also congrats!!!

The female name is beautiful but may be a bit unwieldy. Just the first name with something more familiar may sweeten it. The male name, though, is one that no matter how you pronounced it would lead to a ton of teasing for the boy. YOU may like the name but think of how the child will deal with it.

actually, i'm no longer a great fan of the spelling. you're merely making it puzzling on your little ones. placed your self of their shoes for a 2nd and picture people no longer with the flexibility to pronounce the names properly. i admire the call Kaylee, carry on with that spelling, or perhaps Keighlee, Alayaana is particularly puzzling to spell out because of the fact it has such distinctive repetitive letters, people will consistently miss one. Thats a assure. Allana or Alana, on the different hand is a lot less demanding and nicer. Riley is great, so is Jayden, or Peter, yet please supply up with the funky spellings. you're no longer in center college, and that i promise you, you're young little ones will hate the way they might desire to spell their call. do no longer try this to them. different great names: Julia, Sarah, Kristine, or Tristin for a boy, Sophie or Sophia, Alex for boy, Jacob, Justin, or Michael. sturdy success.

WHAT????
Think about when your child is in school and learning to write their names. Also, you want names that people can remember. Your child will be asked millions of times--
How do you spell that??????????"
I think simple names are beautiful. People will easily remember them and know how to spell them.
Some people are also offended if their names are
constantly spelt wrong or pronounced wrong.
When names are too complicated, then you end up being
called by a simpler nickname anyway.

From the way you are spelling (and pronouncing) each one..it will be difficult for anyone to come to that conclusion..they all sound like beautiful names...but not easy to translate, so to speak...unless you are Spanish...and I'm not even so sure about that....Good Luck
