not as important as the USA believes itself to be,

To say the US isn't important at all is just plain silly.

The U.S. has the worlds largest economy and the world's largest military which is deployed all over the world (sadly, in some places where it shouldn't be, but that's another discussion).

If the U.S. suddenly ceased to exist the world economy would go into a tailspin and wouldn't emerge from it for decades.

Also, a huge number of regional wars would break out as other countries attempted to fill the power vacuum.

You may not like what the U.S. is doing, and you may feel ours is too materialistic a culture, but to say the U.S. isn't important is laughable.

If you really hate the U.S. think of this analogy. Would you say that Germany was important in 1938?

Nazism appeared. What would have happened without the United States?

Soviet style communism appeared. What would have happened without the United States.

All free countries can thank the original model of a free country, the United States.

Now Global Islamic Terrorism with no United States?

The world would still be here without the land of liberty. But you would not recognize the place. I doubt you would like it very much either.

What other country has spent so much of its young lives and treasure to defend other countries and defeat tyranny only to return those former enemies their land, pay to help them rebuild and grant them the gift of liberty and democratic government? There is only America and she is not dispensable. The whole world would suffer without the Yanks.

Internationally, on a scale from 1 - 10, the USA is about a 3, and that's being LIBERAL with the numbers.

It would be just another day on planet earth if the USA collapsed. Seriously - just look at a globe; those three huge land mass / continents known as Africa and Asia (including Russia) wouldn't even blink.

I think the world collapsing is a little melodramatic, but the U.S. is quite important to many nations for trade, foreign AID, economy, etc. There were be problems around the world, but I doubt it would collapse.

Ha! The world is becoming les dependent on us. They are going to take us over one day. Unless we start fighting back, taking back our jobs( simply by buying shares of corporations and voting to make them stay here, instead of letting the rich people profit) becoming the epicenter of the world. Otherwise they will keep taking all our money and we will be the next france....high unemployement rate, a crappy government and no money.

Much of the world would go into very hard times. The US give more money to other countries than what you think.

OUR world would collapse.

I'm fast becoming an isolationist, and I think you'd all get by fine. I think we should withdraw, and just visit from time to time, friendly like.
