You can go without racist attacks. Why would your mother think that only racists celebrate St. Pat's Day or that there would be a number of racists there?

The Irish immigrants who came here especially during the 1800's were themselves subject to bigotry it would be hypocritical of their ancestors to do the same.

Why not?

Anyone that says anythin to u is an ignorant racist and to be ignored..

Saying that if u are young, or whatever age u are, if u live in an area where u or your parents feel there is a possibility of such attacks please be careful ata ll times, dont go alone.
Always report racist attacks and slurs.

Happy st Patricks day to u from Ireland..

Actually, there are a lot of black Irish people. The Moors actually invaded Ireland and some of the Moors settled there and interbred with the natives. Their decendants are called the "Black Irish", and there is a large number of white people with Black Irish blood. I know that my family is.
So there shouldn't be any problem with you going to the parade.

no all are welcome to the parades as we say
cead mile failte-100 000 welcomes for all.

however there is no guarantee someone won't bother you in one way or another but this applies to everyone and all times. ireland and the irish are not racist,we have struggled very hard to fight bigotry and racism, when the irish first entered america they were treated worse than black people and every other race, they were even called the 'n' word amongst other things.

i dont know where you live, but i would hope nobody would harrass you based on your ethnicity. however i do believe the best thing to do is listen to your mother, because she would know the situation far better than anyone else.
