it was a science experiment of mine and the plant didnt do so well. i dont get it.

Plants also consume O2 when photo syntheses is not taking place. In short you probably suffocated the plant.

-----I did not know that CO2 will kill a plant, but CO2 forms an acid in water solution, perhaps that is part of it; perhaps it makes the soil too acid. Perhaps too much CO2 prevents something necessary from getting to the plant. To much oxygen is also not good. In general, you can have too much or too little of everything. ---Jim

It might have been too much to take in for it or it did use it ,but the oxygen it was making was more than the CO2 it was getting, causing it to "suffocate" and die.

well if they're any thing like humans they also need nitrogen and other gases. We'll die to if we're given pure oxygen.
