There is a lot of diversity in California universities. I dont know much about Purdue, but looking at the ethnic diversity for Purdue, its mostly white and there there isnt a lot of other races in Purdue. I dont have any information on racial discrimination in Purdue, so I'm not going to comment on that and take a side.

You should visit Purdue and see if there is a big deal of racial discrimination there because I think its better for you to make that assessment for yourself. You can also see if going to school in Indiana is different for you. I can only tell you that it would be different for me, but different people have different standards and different levels of adaptation.

I lived in California and went to school at Purdue. Purdue is so diverse and there is NO racial discrimination! It was the best time of my life, I had friends from all different walks of life and still keep in touch with most of them. Purdue is an amazing school and a one of a kind campus school experience. I miss it and wish I never left. I am really glad I went to school there because it was totally different from any other schools I had been to and it felt like home.
