I think its metal, because you have to learn how to use an instrument, for rap you just have to press a button and start talking, metal has actual singing, with sadness anger and happyness, rap is just well rap. so metal takes more talent, and it has more subgenres because it can be changed, rap cannot be altered very much because it is simply talking, and in the following list nu metal is included under metal and rapcore under rap because that is the 1 that they hang over just a little more.

metal: anante-grade, black, classical, death, doom, folk, glam, gothic, groove, power, progressive, speed, thrash, viking, neo-classical, alternative, christian, funk, grindcore, industrial, metalcore, nu metal, symphonic metal, melodic death metal.

rap: country, electro, chopped and screwed, gansta, rapcore, crunk, mob, old school, snap

i might have missed a few in rap, but they all sound the same the obvious choice is the talented metal over rap

and dont tell me it depends on the person.

Ditto. You already said it all yourself, man! All 100% true, nothing to add here.

Keep rocking on, we need such true people in these sad times. I'm pleased that you know some more genres of metal, not just this MTV commercial NU metal cr4p.
Long live true metal!

i agree with you completely. although rap songs can be catchier to dance to, metal requires more effort to make. rap artists are given way too much acknowledgement...

I agree totally with you on everything....But really why do we even have rap. Everything that we need to hear is in metal and rock music. I hate Rap with a passion. What were "They" (mainly blacks) and I say that figuratively speaking, thinking? WHO KNOWS???????

Rap demoralizes women and talks about how cool it is to kill cops. Some of the stuff they say make me sick because there are kids who look up to the singers and start to emulate what they do and think it's okay to do what the artists sing about.

cuz my friend's parents grew up listening to heavy metal, and she loves it.

metal is real, raw and powerful which rap doesn't have. there is only one thing that metal and rap, i call it (c)rap, share and that is the men are embracing their masculinity, but even rap is losing that so that must mean that metal fans are the last people on this earth who aren't afraid to be real men............................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................... sorry ladies if i sound sexist but it just bug me that some have to act like a bunch of sensitive morons ALL THE TIME!!!!
