I live and work in an all black area and I have to say that I am very disappointed. It is all Hip Hop and ghetto and they seem to like it. Why on earth has everyone else tried to get out of being considered Ghetto and they have made an industry out of it. Great for a few but the masses that buy into it will be screwed. Watch the subprime mortgage industry and you will see that the "white people" they hate will still take thier money. Education and NOT hip hop will be the answer. Wake up.

I tried, but it's up to you. Stop blaming everyone and start learning. There is No Racist Conspiracy anymore so just start being smart for a change. Read E.B. Dubois the first black PHD in America.

Racism of all types stems from poverty and the subsequent ignorance that goes with it. Only a better educational system can ebb the flow of ignorant thought.

There is no "racist conspiracy". But there is racism and I read a lot of bigotry in your post.

As unfortunate as it is being black in today's society is still very much more difficult than it is to be white. Pretending that the ghetto doesn't exist, doesn't change the fact that it does and that a large population of Americans live in one. Expecting the black man to pretend that the ghetto doesn't exist and to live like a white man isn't going to change the fact that people, the majority of them black, live in the ghetto.

In the 60's a man named John Howard Griffin wrote a book called "Black Like Me". Mr. Griffin altered the colour of his skin and travelled through the then still very racially segregated deep south.

The principal lesson one gets from the book is to never judge a man or the way he lives and behaves until you've walked a mile in his shoes.

Education is the ONLY thing that can change a racist, true. But denigrating someone because they haven't gotten to the enlightened state that you think they should attain does nothing if not put them right where they already think you think they are and ought not to be.

Don't stop trying; it's still up to you too. You profess to know better. Be a better role model. Stop trying to change them and appreciate them for who they are, you might see less racism from them.

People are raised being a racist. They watch how grown-ups act with others so they are taught at a young age. it is hard to break a habit that they were brought up in. Who wouldn't want to get of the ghetto. You know that the ghetto is tough to live in. Statistics show a low percentage of the people hardly graduate and they end up in prison at a young age. Education is what they need but I asseme even some schools don't push edeucation with there students. It's a huge debate don't you think.

I am not sure what you mean about reading Dubois. He was absolutely certain about the repressive nature of racism in America. Meaning white racism against blacks.

While there may or may not be a racist conspiracy, there is racism in abundance in American society. We are a racist people it was woven in to our birth fabric. I urge you to read Alexis De Tocqueville's Democracy in America.

Concerning hip hop I personally find it distasteful and I am a black American, many of us feel that it expresses only the most base and negative aspets of our culture, but let us be realistic. There are whole industries making much money from hip hop regardless of how I or you may personally feel about it. The thing to do is to educate yourself so that you can see black culture for what it really is not simply a portion of it.

You can't.

The person can only change when he/she decides to.

And in regards to the hip hop scene too many people are making too much money for it to disappear anytime soon.
