Isn't the Queen your most senior diplomat?

I feel sorry for the Queen. Even though she is one of the richest women in the world.

Imagine, having to sit on the fence all your life, you couldn't afford to have an opinion or set one foot wrong. You have to be nice to people you don't know and probably don't like. You have to sit through dinners when you probably would rather be at home eating pizza and watching the BBC. You have to watch boring cultural dancing displays, launch ships you would never sail on, get up early in the morning to attend memorial services when it is raining and cold and the only way she can well and truly retire is to drop dead. (She could abdicate, but her actions are ruled by popular opinion, so she won't)

I watch her on TV sometimes, and when she smiles, it doesn't quite reach her eyes.

You don't see Prince Charles pressuring her to abdicate - who wants all that stress and pressure? How suffocating on the soul and spirit.

The Queen is also your biggest tourist attraction. Your economy would be stuffed without the tourist dollar she brings in.

Until the UK weans itself off the Monarchy, the Monarch will be around for a very long time.

The Queen has nothing to do with the homeless or prisons, you can lay all that at the door of 10 Downing St. She does a job, faithfully and uncomplainingly, that nobody else would want.

Do some research, instead of parroting idiocy.

She is the biggest tourist attraction we have, all the stupid Americans and other will come and spend their hard earned money just to be near buck house and get a glimpse of the pomp and ceremony they love it!, and just think she is also Queen if Canada which is one thing they have over the Americans. God Save and Bless the Queen - and I'm Welsh,

But who would we have on our coins and stamps - I love the Queen I am opposed to all the other hanger ons . The Queen has done the same job for over 50 years. She has sacrificed her own personal freedom and remains a dignified and loyal servant of the British people . Long live the Queen

You silly little person. The Queen is both head of state and head of the Church of England. You would soon regret her passing if we had someone like Tony Blair for president

I think royalty is part of our culture and helps with tourism, and the economy - brings in the tourists, which gives us all jobs, and provides income to pay for the homeless accommodation and prisons not to mention less people on unemployment benefit, housing benefit, income for health service...long live the queen!!!!

You don't sound like a royaltist. Or are you just against the British Royal Family?

Somebody has to hold the highest position in our country. It happens to be the Queen.

You don't give any reasons for your view. If you don't know the reason for the monarchy I guess you're better off keeping your silly views to yourself.

Surely if you are a royalist, it means you support the Queen. If you are against, you are a republican.
Think of the alternative, Tony Blair!.
