Someone already mentioned that finding ballet slippers and pointe shoes are different. Pointe shoes really do need to be fitted for you. For any other dance shoes, there are several places you can go online to find shoes, if you cannot get to a dancewear store. I recommend going to www.discountdance.com. That's where I usually order things from. They also have a good selection of dancewear and accessories.

Hounslow in the UK? You could do a Google Maps search (not as helpful, in your case, you'll have to dig through a couple thousand results, basically anything that contains the word dance in it, and it probably won't include the small businesses that dance shops usually are), but your best bet would be to call the studio you are/will be going to, or another dancer friend and ask for a recommendation of where they go. Yellow pages are also very helpful. Dance shoe sizing runs crazy and they need to fit exactly, so you should be fitted for all your shoes, for your first pair, and again if you want a different style once the old ones wear out. After that, feel free to get them online or on eBay (usually much cheaper).

ebay is extremely good and you can get some great deals if you know what you are looking for. Otherwise, ask around where you live. i live in a small place int eh country and it has about 3 dance shops! Also look online for places near you.
If you have classes, the teacher is usually able to suply you with some shoes (you will have to pay) or 2nd hand ones.
good luck!

Capizo.com Or bloch works just as fine. But personally id stick with capezio. But when trying on new ballet shows bought on line lay a clean towel on the floor slip the shoe on and do some pointing.

Ebay is good for dancewear but it depends what ballet shoes u mean, flats yes, pointes no, u need to get those fitted unless u have already found a good pair that your feet are happy with!
I buy all my dancewear online at www.dancedirectworld.com
Their stuff is reasonably priced and it arrives really quickly and its definitely good quality, if i had a bigger bank balance i'd be shopping there all the time :D
