i accedently cut my gums with my fingernail and its not healing. it has been painfully swollen for about 4 or 5 days now and i think it got worse. i went to the dentist and he said the reason it hurt so bad is because 2 or 3 kanker sores formed around the cut and he gave me cream to get rid of the kanker sores. i dont think i even had kanker sores in the first place because its the CUT that hurts. i have been using the cream and every time i put it on the cut bleeds a little. it hurts when i talk, eat, smile. what do i do.

It sounds to me that what your dentist told you is what is going on.

Keep putting the cream on and wait. Canker sores usually disappear, even untreated within a couple of weeks.

Try to avoid high acid foods they'll help cause pain.

You can try gargling with warm salt water, if you can handle it, it might hurt the cut, but it will help cauterize the canker sores.

Hon, you formed the sores because of the cut itself. You need to call the dentist and get him to give you a good explanation. Canker sores hurt a lot. The cream will eventually heal you cut and the canker sores around them.

You can rinse your mouth with hydrogen peroxide to get a little relief. Bless your heart. Just don't stop taking the medicine.

Start eating soft foods that doesn't make you chew a bunch. Baby food is good, but i don't think you'll want to eat that, some oatmeal, soft bread with cheese, soup, chicken noodle soup.. ect. don't eat gum.. too chewable. Just wait untill the kanker sore goes away. :] It will probably go away in just a couple of days, i've gotten a big cut my sharp teeth once on my gum.. it took a week to heal.

Use hydrogen peroxide and dilute it 50/50 with water. Rince twice a day. Good for cankers too.

Put a couple of teaspoons of salt in a cup of very warm water & stir until dissolved. Gargle w/the hot salt water, making sure to swish it around your injury. This is a great remedy & we've been using it in our family for generations for toothaches, etc.
