I had this problem, and my solicior hired a private detective.
I really enjoyed the story, as my solicitor passed on what occured.
We knew he was living and working in a pub, but every time someone went in and asked for him he wasnt there, so the pi went in and just got talking to him, about ireland where he is from, so was the pi, and after introduced himself, saying he was working in the area, my ex husband turned round and gave his name, and the pi handed him the papers and said your served, I wish I had been there. Once they are served thats it, doesnt matter if he wont sign anything it will all go through with or without him there, and in fact will go against him if he doesnt sort it.

Invite him to dinner, pretending you have a serious matter to discuss - tip the bailiff off, who will then serve it. Alternatively, line him up with a girl at a given address, tip the bailiff off. Lastly, it may also be served at his place of work.

Send it certified mail. To the last know address. Ask the lawyer if you can proceed anyway because he can't be found.
Good Luck

I knew a lady who flew to another state to serve papers on a man....some business deal. she wanted to serve him herself!
she told me she put a wig and dark glasses and asked him his name, he said yes and she handed the papers to him on an elevator. he dropped them on the floor immediately. doesnt matter...he was 'served'. peace

The easiest way to find someone's address is to inform them or their family that you have money for them. People will give out addresses if you can convince them that you really have money for them.
