I have a few cats,I don't understand why my youngest one does this. He is already fixed. I realize he is still a baby, but how long is it going to take before he realizes it too... Love him, butI also love arms. Actually he will suckle any spots of my skin that are not covered. It hurts he has sharp nails!!!What to do??????

well... he may never stop, it may have truned into a comfort thing my cat sucks on her own belly, my other one sucks on my pant legs,and t-shirts, if you want him to stop try giving him an old shirt of yours that isnt washed that way he has your sent... good luck

Since you mentioned the sharp nails, I'm wondering if you're referring to "treading" rather than suckling. Treading is what they do with their paws, when they are nursing. However, some cats continue the habit well into adulthood, and do this treading or "nesting" when they are getting ready to sleep, or when they are being cuddled. It gives them comfort. Keep his little nails trimmed or have him declawed if he's an indoor cat. Otherwise, your furniture may be shredded by those sharp nails.
