For example as a 5th cousin may not actually be conseder related to you anymore and those there after, I think.

This is a wierd one to explain... I will use myself as an example.

My dad had a cousin who was 30 when my dad was born. He had kids a few years after my dad was born. My dad's cousin's kids were his first cousins once removed becuase they are a generation lower than him. Now, one of the once removed cousins has a daughter my age, so she is my second cousin once removed because my second cousin is her dad.

If hes your cousin once removed, then he is really your second cousin.
