I have borrowed a friends xbox. He said the BT router would pick it up automaticaly, but it hasn't. Any ideas?

The router should pick it up automatically providing the xbox is set to auto in both the ip and dns settings. I assume that you are NOT trying to connect the xbox wirelessly

Also not sure about your router. Just had a look on ebay and it appears these come in both locked and unlocked versions which shouldn't make any difference in your case as you can connect to the internet.

Also the network cable needs to be a straight cable (standard network) cable and not a system link cable if you are connecting it to the router. If you are connecting the xbox to your pc then you require a system link or patch cable.

Your router needs to be set to dhcp server in order for other devices to work with it and all network settings on the xbox need to be set to automatic.
