My daughter started eating the cereals around 4 mos. She was eating the Stage 1 foods by about 5 mos, Stage 2 by 6 mos, and the Stage 3 (with meats) by about 6 1/2-7 mos. I just let her kind of set the pace. I put her on the Stage 2 when the Stage 1's weren't filling her up. The biggest thing with the Stage 3 meats is how she does with the texture. If she's been eating the Stage 2 fine, try the Stage 3, if she handles the texture ok, she should be fine! We gave her the Stage 3 for dinner, and still had the Stage 2's for breakfast/lunch. Hope this helps, and good luck!

We never gave our's jarred meat. By around 9 or 10 months they were good enough at chewing or gumming food that we were giving them meat cut up really small. We just waited until then. There are so many other foods to keep them busy with trying that it's not hard to wait until 9 or 10 months of age.

I also have a 6mth old. I started him on solids at 4mths. I've been making his own food, though I do give him jarred if we are away for the weekend or out for the day. I haven't yet started any meats. My Dr. also said to wait until closer to 9mths. My feeling is that I wouldn't want to eat the jarred meat, it just looks gross. So I plan to wait until he can eat more textured food and make it for him.

A 6 mos old should just be starting solids.
First foods are typically rice cereal, althought LLL says bananas, avocados and sweet potatoes are better first choices.
Personally, I avoid feeding any meats until they can eat tender pieces of what the rest of us are having, around 18 mos of age if possible. Then they are better able to digest it. Baby food meats are DISGUSTING anyway.

i'm no longer particular what degree 2 means...yet possibilities are extreme even if it really is in a jar, it really is likely fantastically processed and treated in this kind of way that it should be saved at room temperature-so fairly it really is no longer "genuine" meat, have you ever sat down for thanksgiving for a turkey that replaced into definitely served out of a Jar? It sounds like you're in person-friendly words giving jarred food....the ranges on the jars and ranges of non-jarred food seem different, so it really is hard to respond to fairly! i in my opinion did not start up my son on meat till 8 months...This replaced into floor pork, fowl lamb and so on that we processed ourselves.

honey, i cut a strip of t-bone steak and let my daughter suck on it the day i brought her home from the hospital, the way i look at it they have teeth they can eat whatever as long as you are careful and pay close attention so they don't choke. keep in mind they did not have all those stage foods when they came cross country in covered wagons
