obvious contenders:

indianapolis colts, because they have peyton manning and a dynamic offense. the defense was not so good last year, but proved they had what it takes during the playoffs. Dungy will really work the players hard, he wants to prove to everyone it was not a one time thing. also look at the division their in, theres not so much competition there, they should easily win the AFC South if they don't make any big mistakes.

new orleans saints, there quarterback barley got there last year and was already doing fantastic things with the offense. with a year of experience in the rule of coach Sean Peyton, Brees should be a tremndous threat to all defenses. Reggie Bush is also going to be getting much better, and another NFL championship appearance is not too improbable.

cinncinati bengals, great QB and recievers. this team has an offense all coaches dream of making their own. the defense will need to make its presence noticed. as long as the team stays healthy, they should make the playoffs, but how far they get depends on how much the players put into it. and if they can stop all the off field drama.

san diego chargers, a young offense, a powerful defense, and a new coach in town. they no longer have to worry about playing martyball, and the curse of immediate elimnation in the playoffs, but that does not assure that this team will be the same from last year. their strong running game will get them a good season record, but as a team they will have to do good in the playoffs

chicago bears, even though i hate to admit it, this is a pretty good team. the offense has a couple of holes in it, but nothing a few free agents and draft picks can't fix. lovie smith is a smart man, and who ever he chooses to play QB will eventually turn out to be good. the defense had no problems this last year, but that doesn't mean they can stop working hard. urlacher is going to have to make big plays, and mentor some of the young guys into that dominating defense. and remember to watch out with devin hester, but he may fumble from time to time.

baltimore ravens, these guys have a good defense, alright offense, some what smart coach, but all it got them last year was to a touchdown-less loss against the colts in the playoffs. this team is going to have to get through some humps if they want to get further in the playoffs.

new england patriots, tom brady still has it, its just that his team has changed so much. you can't rely on one guy to do it all. the running game should be strong in '07, as well as the defense, but bellicheck is going to have get a couple of other good guys to help this team get to the big game

may have a chance:

dallas cowboys, don't believe the rumors of tony romo being haunted by his season ending fumble. tony and TO are back, but this time with a offensive line made of brick. hopefully jerry will leave the coaching to wade phillips, and only that way will they be able to make the playoffs again. once they are there, anything can happen. don't forget about the potential this defense has.

philadelphia eagles, mcnabb will be back. but for how long? the truth is that mcnabb is becoming one fo the constantly injured QBs, and his team needs him right now. defense is doing their part, but a lot will depend on the games played within the division if this team goes to the playoffs

seattle seahawks, shuan alexander was only suffering a madden curse. now that hes back, and hopefully the same guy that one MVP in '05, his team will have a chance of doing something important this season. holmgren will need to fix that secondary though

new york jets, some found it hard to believe that this team made it to the playoffs in '06, but the truth is that they are improving. mangini has learned from the best, and now his dynamic QB and young runner will have a shot to go back to the playoffs, and maybe take it further this year.

tennessee titans, vince young was the first rookie QB to go to the pro bowl. and even though it was as an injury replacment, it was well deserved. this team had an interesting win streak going near the end of the season. if bill fisher can motivate his troops, and make them a playoff team again, this team will have a chance

underdogs that could make it:

san fransisco is learning to use their offense better and could have better and better seasons as the years go, kansas city got through with the running game but with some better players the chiefs could go to the playoffs again, denver is shaping their young QB and will need to keep up that defense to make it this year to the playoffs

Well, if I had to guess I'd say that the team that wins either 19 or 20 games ;)

In all seriousness, one thing I like about the NFL is that usually there are a couple of surprises every year. That doesn't happen as often in other sports (okay, mostly in baseball)

Now, who would I WANT or LOVE to win the Super Bowl? The Patriots of course... Go Pats!! (And I do feel bad for the Packers, but Moss or no Moss, there is no way that they're going to win the Super Bowl this year)

Patriots:

They have had a great off season in adding adalius thomas, donte stallworth, and other wide receivers that they really needed. Plus, you've always got a chance with tom brady and one of the best young running backs in lawrence maroney.

The New England Patriots have improved all their weak points making them a nearly unbeatable team.
