I have a dark purplish brown ring about halfway down my shaft. I seems to get darker when I have an erection and fades a bit when limp. It's been there for about a month and makes an almost complete circle. What is it and how can I get rid of it?

It is your circumcision scar. It's irrelevant that it's halfway down the shaft of your penis - as you grow your skin stretches. Nothing to worry about. Your girlfriend won't care, trust me.

This ring is most likely your circumcision scar. All circumsized guys have this scar, although some scars are lighter, and some scars are darker. There is nothing wrong with your penis.

Sounds like you may have broken a blood vessel, maybe it gets darker since it is pumping blood to the penis when you have an erection. You should see a doctor about this.
