Children today are very different then they were back in the 60's and 70's. When they started the "Child Abuse" BS is when The kids started all this nonsense. What you CAN do is use your own discretion on this. What do YOU think about all the stuff your daughter wants to do. Set a limit and make sure she follows it. Don't just fold in, she may think she has you by the horns. Follow up, if she don't respect your wishes, then consequences should be made by you and stick to each on. Me, being a mother of 8 know this very well.
You are NOT your daughters' best friend, you are her parent and she should respect your wishes.
Good Luck!

i would think that having her boyfriend spend the night is totally out of the question (NO WAY!!)
I'd tell her she can get her belly button pierce in a few years
car date-i don't know what you mean by that sorry

Let her have a boyfriend but make sure she doesnt have him spend the night unless you really trust her all alone with him. I know someone who let their 12 year old daughter say alone in her room with her boyfreind and you can guess what happend. You can let her get her belly pierced but you are still able to point her life in the right direction. Its mostly up to you.

At 14 you shouldn't let her get away with anything.
Belly button pierced?? Women's bellies are so beautiful just the way they are! What makes her think that any amount of jewelry is going to improve on the beauty of her God-given navel?

im 14
i have my belly button and nose pierced its nothing bad they are just piercings it wouldnt make her any different
you could put limits to her
for example her boyfriend spending the night i think is ok if they dont sleep in the same bedroom
you can say no after all she is only 14
if you think she is responsible enough to handle a piercing or to car date you should let her
or you could let her make mistakes she will learn from
i have limits myself
but it doesnt mean i cant do fun things like a piercing

Welcome to the world of the teenage parent! (Note the cynicism in that comment).
Don't let her get away with anything you're not sure about. Treat each case as it comes - and they'll come thick and fast, so you're going to have to be on your toes ALL the time. They're tricky at that age. Fortunately, she will grow up. . . .hopefully.

None, until she earns it. She's too young to have a boyfriend. Spending the night together ? Do you want to be a grand-parent soon ? If you cave in to this trap, make sure she is on birth conrol regimen. Redirect her energy to studies.

She is just attracted to wrong things , just make sure that she understands all the BAD & GOOD aspects in genral .
Now she is enough to understand the meaning of words , so please speak softly , Punish her if she is wrong it will makes things under control.
Kept in mind it's the shaping of her future from your side , so be very restrictive & pussasive to right things from both of your sides.
It may hurt you but do it for your child future .
so best of luck.

You are the parent, you have control of them until they are 18yrs. of age. Under your roof it is your rules. Out side of the house you are still legally responsible for them. Guide them, direct them become best of Friends.

It depends on her level of maturity.
Not all 14-year-olds are alike.
Just remember if you forbid something, you take the very strong chance that she will do it anyway and just lie to you about it.
