NO! Ask your doctor about dieting and they will tell you that pregnancy is not a time for dieting. Don't go insane on the food intake of course but you shouldn't be trying to watch your weight right now. Unless your doctor puts you on a diet for medical reasons, don't diet. If you are concerned about having an extremely large baby right now, ask your doc at your next appointment.

I got gestational diabetes, diagnosed at 28wks. I had to eat super healthy and watch every little thing I ate. I didn't gain any weight the last 3 mths, but the baby still did. I don't think dieting would make the baby not grow, if genetically he or she is set to be big. I would suggest meeting with a nutritionist, otherwise you may deprive the baby. Eating the right amounts of fat, protein, and carbs is more important than limiting them.

i would check with your doctor before doing anything to with dieting. My first child was 10pounds 10.5 oz and he was two weeks late. They tried inducing me three times then i opted for a c-section to avoid any physical damage to my son through vaginal birth. According to what the doc told me that is. I gained 80 pounds in that pregnancy because i was young (19-20) and everyone convinced me i was eating for two so ate for two. This current pregnancy (age 31) i have only gained 3 pounds at my 3 month mark. I think it depends on how much you gain during pregnancy.
Then again my husbands Mom is a tiny woman and she had three 9lbs and up boys so i would definately ask your doc.
You only have 5 weeks to go the baby can't gain to much weight in that amount of time unless you really chow down in that amount of time. My issue is not eating enough (doc says) but i can only eat so much ya know...
I hope this helps some, good luck and congrats!!!

No you shouldn't diet... but talk to your doctor about having the baby induced. My mom did that with my younger brother because at 8 1/2 months he was already 8 lbs!

yes! by all means! cut the carbs!
You already know what the baby wants right now..
MEAT. Iron, Protein - and all the lovely stuff to buld muscle.
I know it sounds nasty- but a really good meat to eat is liver.
I know,,, eww.
keep it at 1800 calories (this is what my doctor told me when I wanted not to pack the pounds while preggy) don't go under.
I didn't gain or lose weight myself, but baby 2 was slightly smaller then baby 1 by about 1/3 of a pound.
Baby one -I did nothing to curb what I ate.

A diet is not recommended and it won't make your baby smaller. Eating healthier is always best, so cutting sugar and fat wouldn't hurt, but would certainly help you and baby!

i had been wondering the same thing, so i checked it out. It's not safe anytime during your pregnancy to have a diet, your baby is growing and it dangerous to diet.

I believe that this is a topic that you should speak with your doctor with. Although some may have some good advice, I don't believe anyone has your medical history. I would highly suggest discussing this with your doctor.
