In the first few weeks I did have light period-like cramping. Given your history of miscarriages I would ask the doctor for an early ultrasound to check on things, or perhaps an HCG count. Good luck to you!

I am so sorry to say this but this is exactly what happened with me three years ago. I took a test on the Friday and it was positive on the Monday I began getting cramps like my period was due to start. I had a brown discharge and then nothing but the cramps. I was booked in at the Early Pregnancy Unit on the Wednesday and they took my blood to test the hormones, did an ultrasound which confirmed I was 7 weeks pregnant. The next day they took more blood and called me to confirm that I was miscarrying. The next day I passed the feotus and then was book in for a D&C.

I would call your GP or the local Early Pregnancy Unit, usually located at your local hospital and explain what's happening. It is sometimes normal to spot, cramp and even have periods during pregancy. I believe with your history of miscarriages they will book you in straight away for an early scan.

Good Luck and remember it's not alway bad news. Let us know the outcome. xx

hi hun, this is called implantation bleeding, some women get a browny light pink discharge at around the time your period is due. So i would not worry about it too much. Make an appointment with your dr and tell her what you are experiencing and also type in implantation bleeding into the search engine and see if the symptoms from that is what you are experiencing. i too have had miscarriages in the past but have also had 2 healthy babies and one on the way so i can understand you getting very scared and nervous, but try not to stress too much as that can cause you more harm than good. i hope i have been of some help, please let me know how you get on.
All the bestxx

ignore casw1...the moron. i've never had any way shape or form of spotting, every1's different. when i was a few weeks pregnant i got all the normal aches and pains that i expected to lead on to my period, then nuffin! Enstine here didn't put missing periods and puking left right n center together until i was 4 months gone! whoops...but yea, i never had anything like that. i'd go to your doc's ASAP. i kno its sunday now, but go to the walk in center if you have one. as u've had 8 miscarrages (you poor thing, i can't even imagin how hard that must be) you'd be put on a high risk list and seen very quickly about anything.

i really hope this pregnancy goes full term for you. you deserve it after all you've been through. (just remember, those were 8 little angels too good for this world, its not your fault) good luck hunny

I wouldn't worry too much then, although youve got history still air on the side of caution but maybe now is your time. The brown discharge is whats known as an implantaion bleed so it would mean that it was just about on time because the sperm really only has 3 days to make its mind up once ovulation occurs, it maybe that the egg just started to release when the sperm reached it and stopped it in time..

Good luck hen, its for real this time

Take care

Some cramping is normal and the spotting sounds like old blood. Unless the cramping is severe(worse than a period) or the blood is red or pink, I wouldn't worry too much. If it does worsen or the bleeding starts, call a doctor or the local ER. Also call the doctor on Monday anyway to go ahead and begin prenatal care and inform them of the discharge.

I got a little book from Boots all about pregnancy and your new baby and it actually says that many women feel crampy around the time their period is due - I have just found out I am pregnant and also had cramps for about 5 days - I was getting worried myself but they've eased off now.

Hi, there is no need to worry this is normal. most women experience cramps during the fist few weeks/months it's just your body getting use to the pregnancy. And the brown discharge is probably implantation spotting. Some women also experience spotting every month when they are due for their period as well. So as long as the bleeding isn't heavy there is no need to worry, hope this helps and congrats!!, x

Don't worry about the people who are horrible on here, i miscarriages in Jan and its awful thing to go through, so to hear about your losses. I would ring NHS Direct and see what they say. 08454647 They will tell you what to do as you have had problems in the past so you need to explain this to them, if you have pain you must call NHS. Good luck hope all goes well.
