Why does the government insist on strutting around the Middle-East like it owns the place, fighting wars that in no way affect us here?
Surely we're bigger than killing for the sake of a bit of extra oil.

Thanks very much for your highly quixotic and misguided thoughts.

We're not strutting. We're occupying after an illegal invasion .. except most fail to see the overall strategy. We enter a Middle Eastern country. We exert "shock and awe" scaring the entire Middle East .
Then we occupy, under the guise of providing "peace ,stability ,freedom, democracy (haha), and liberty". Years later we are still there, still seeking the "terrorists" (which by the way were not there when we entered).
In the interim Halliburton and Bechtel float about on the gift of war. Meanwhile others in the region become the targets of the U.S.'s "seeking of other terrorists". God, Bush says. We have to fight the entire Middle East?
No Bush. You don't But now you have an excuse to STAY in the Middle East, as the World Police. And there are other reasons to stay. After all the US is forever flexing its mighty muscles, weapons and military. And so-----(continued) we make a deal. The Saudis, Kuwait. They have hundreds of billions of dollars and an unlimited oil supply. They need protection....and they know the modus operandi of the United States. They know the United States loves being a Supe Power..loves being the World Police..and so the Middle Easterners say.'let them stay".. they are so foolish, so willing to sacrifice" And so, the Middle Easterners say, "we let them stay, to protect us, while they flitter around seeking Bush's elusive "terrorists".....
Either way, the Middle Easterners win..

Gosh, where do you get all this great information ? I never knew that any Americans were strutting around. I thought that we were there to destroy the training grounds and Saddam so that there would be less chance of another bombing lik the Towers.
Maybe you haven't noticed, but the bombings stopped when we went after Saddam.
Stupid egg-heads always come up with that oil business. They're not intelligent enough to realize we're spending many times the worth of the oil. But it's a good line for those who were born without a brain.

We are fighting a war on terror in the Middle East. Pure and simple. If you want to continue to live in a free country then count your blessings. If you do not, you know where the door is.
