I believe racism towards darker skinned people because all races seem to discriminate against them to a large degree. For example, indians, white, spanish people etc... they all seem to look down on people with darker skin. ? Also, in america, darker skinned people are discriminated against the most, why? The majority of the population is lighter skined. I was wondering what you thought of this.

It's only been 40yrs since jim crow and WHITES are now being discriminated against the most?
When did this start? Affirmative action? Ya'll had a 200+ yr headstart on affirmative action, that's how most of your families were able to pass down their wealth.
Was it black history month? In school, the whole year is spent learning about the white men that "founded" this nation, never mind that they were crooks and slave owners.
Until we have a president OTHER than a RICH WHITE man,
I'm not buying this "white discrimination" crap.

Btw, I'm aware whites have been targeted by blacks and others with racial slurs, violence, and even discrimination, which I would never condone. But it's nothing compared to what my parents went through, what I go through, and even what my kids will go through.

Well, this question has many different ways to answer it. In the U.S. when you turn on the nightly news, you see a parade of blacks, Mexicans, puerto ricans, being led into court, being arrested or what have you. Some of the bias is created by what is reported on, and some of it is a learned behavior. There are laws in the U.S. that make it illegal for discrimination against any person of color. It is called affirmative action, which gives people of color better chances of being hired, regardless of their qualifications. Is that not discrimination towards people who are not of color? There is not, (to my knowledge) any legislation that is still in effect that is discriminatory towards people of color. Also the majority of the U.S. is no longer people with light skin, There has been a population surge over the last ten years in the demographic of people of color. This would include birth rates, immigration rates. White people are not the only ones biased by skin color, the colored populous is also quite good at whipping out the racial slurs, its is even commercialized in rap music, not all rap but some. If it were a light skinned person singing racial slurs, the ACLU would be holding rallies across America. See racism goes both ways, no one is Innocent.

Well dude,in the UNITED STATES it is LEGAL to discriminate against whites, especially white males, can ANY other race make that claim? My filipino co-workers are constantly astounded at that.

By the way why do foreigners with legal status who move to the USA tend to stay away from blacks and hispanics? I guess whity isn't the only one out there who's cautious.

Anti-discrimination statutes make it so that any black man with drive and moxie will be chosen over a White person with better credentials. So, in hiring, the White man is discriminated against.

But in personal life, Whites will try to avoid contact with us.

Whites. We are openly belittled in the media and entertainment. Everything we say, think, write or produce is under the PC microscope to try to find racism in it. We are legally discriminated against and anyone who so much as raises an eyebrow is branded a racist.

Whites. All the so called minorities have their job hiring preferences and college entry requirements lowered for them to make it easier to get in, and if you say anything against a minority you're a "racist" yet society and TV is full of anti-white slander and nothing is said about that. Reverse discrimination is common and just as hurtful, but completely overlooked. After all, when is the last time you heard of a black who killed or beat up a white being charged with a hate crime?

I think Asians. The African Americans get so much press, its hard for them to be any less discriminated against.
