I read where Dollar General & Dollar General Market were bought out. Does this mean changes for the company? I hope not. This is the only store that doesn't sell alcohol and cigarettes and is totally family oriented.

I don't go there because of the quality of the stuff they sell. Take bleach for example, most place it is 79 cents for a gallon, at DG it is $1.00. My dogs and cats won't eat their product of animal food either. Kling toilet bowl cleaner comes out thinner than water, you need to go to a good store to get something that klings, even though they both have the same name. I can understand you not wanting to patronize a store that sells alcohol and tobacco products. If you want clothes or something like that go to Sears or clothing stores. For meat you can go to a butcher shop, then you are getting it fresh too.

Could be that they don't sell alcohol because they don't want the red tape of getting a permit or checking identification. Besides, then the price wouldn't be a dollar anymore.
