If you have a 3.4L engine the sensor is on the LH side top of the engine.
If you have a 3.8L engine it is on the LH side of the engine below the thermostat housing

The ECT (Engine Coolant Temp sensor) should be located by the coolant thermostat housing or where the upper radiator hose connects to the engine. It screws in with a plug or small/short wire harness attached to it.

They are usually located close to or in the thermostat housing area or in an area around the same housing but screwed into the intake manifold. Different motors are in different locations. The ECT sensor has two wires to it, it is screwed into the cooling system and is gold in color. Good luck.
